The state government has taken an important decision in the wider interest of students pursuing primary education. Classes 6 to 8 will be resumed in state schools from Thursday, February 14.



Gandhinagar: The Rupani government has taken a big decision to start Std-6 to 8 classes. Classes 6 to 8 will be resumed from February 18. The state government has taken an important decision in the wider interest of students pursuing primary education. Classes 6 to 8 will be resumed in state schools from Thursday, February 14.According to the resolution issued by the education department in this regard, classroom education will have to be resumed for Std. 6 to 8 of all the board's primary schools in the state.Giving more details regarding this resolution, Education Secretary Vinod Rao said that with the commencement of physical education work in all the board's primary schools in the state i.e. Std. 

The guidelines issued for 2021 are to be strictly followed.For this purpose, instructions have been given to all the district education officers as well as primary education officers to ensure that the schools comply with the SOP, the education secretary said. He added that the state government has decided to re-open standard 6 to 8 classrooms in primary schools keeping in view the long-term educational interests of the students as the transition to corona has now come down due to intensive work of the state health departmentThe Education Secretary made it clear that attendance in this offline direct education work would be voluntary as well as that the educational institution would have to obtain a prescribed consent form from the parents of the students. 

Mr. Vinod Rao also added that the existing system of online classes for the students who do not engage in classroom education should be continued by the respective institute-schoolsThe education department's resolution also instructed the student-teacher or other staff infected with corona not to come to the school as well as not to start schools in the containment zone, the education secretary said. Special emphasis has been laid on maintaining social distance between the students in the classrooms of Std. 

6 to 8, compulsory use of masks by every student, teacher as well as other matters of SOP.It is pertinent to point out here that even during the Corona transition, the state government continued the educational work by setting up an online education system in the wider interest of the students and took care not to spoil the studies of the students. Gradually classroom teaching work has been started as Corona's condition has improved. Accordingly, class 10-12 and final year class of undergraduate and postgraduate level have been started in the state from 11th January.Classes of Std. 9 and 11 have been re-opened in the state from 1st February and first year classes of the college have also been started from 8th February.

 The number of students who were initially involved in this classroom education in Std. 9th to 12th classes has increased to 90 to 8%.
In these fruitful efforts of the state government, parents are also enthusiastically cooperating in the interest of their children's education and increasingly motivating their children for classroom education.
