SBI has announced that if a person opens an account under PMJDY, he will be exempted from the minimum balance rule.New Delhi: State Bank of India, the country's largest state-owned bank, has made a big announcement for Jan Dhan account holders. The bank has recently announced that if any Jan Dhan account holder applies for "SBI RuPay Jan Dhan Card", they will get insurance cover of up to Rs 2 lakh. "Now is the time for you to walk the path of success. Apply for Jandhan Card today as SBI," SBI tweeted.The focal point of Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) under the Central Government Scheme is rural as well as urban area. It may be mentioned that SBI has announced that if a person opens an account under PMJDY, he will be exempted from the minimum balance rule.Under Pradhan Mantri Jandhan Yojana, any Indian who is 10 years of age or above can open a bank account.Benefits of opening a Jan Dhan account:
1) The benefit of all government schemes will be credited directly to the account.




2) Free mobile banking facility is also provided along with Jandhan account.
3) Overseas facility is availed six months after opening of Jandhan account.
4) Accident insurance up to two lakh rupees will be provided along with this.
5) Life cover up to 30 thousand rupees.6) The debit card will be issued to the account holder. From which they can withdraw money and also buy.
7) Interest is earned on the deposit.
8) Facility to transfer money across the country.
9) Insurance or pension products can be easily purchased through the account.What documents were considered for opening a Jan Dhan account:
1) Aadhaar card
2) Passport
3) Driving license
4) Any document required for KYC.
The central government has claimed that a total of 41.75 crore accounts were opened under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana. Out of which 35.96 crore accounts are currently being transacted.
